About Our Business
A bilateral amputee since
1936, founded Shamp
Prosthetic Orthotic Center in
1957 and worked in
prosthetics in Youngstown,
Canton, and Norton before
retiring in 1987 to Florida,
leaving the business to be run
by his son Dan.
Certified prosthetist, is among the
second generation of Shamps to
work in Prosthetics. Dan
graduated from Cerritos College
and did post-graduate studies at
Northwestern University and
UCLA. He served on the staff at
Rancho Los Amigos Hospital,
Downey, California, prior to his
return to practice in Ohio in 1972.
Dan's oldest son, is the third
generation certified prosthetist
in our family, and a graduate
of Kent State University with a
bachelor degree in Business
Administration. Mark is
certified to fit the Otto Bock
C-Leg. He also is certified in
Myoelectric upper extremity
prosthesis. Also he is certified
to fit Harmony VASS systems.
He is also a member of
several professional
organizations.
